Have you ever wanted to cook in a restaurant but don’t have any experience?
Vernon's Speakeasy looking for a Line Cook Trainee to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, following recipes, adhering to health and safety regulations, and plating dishes according to the restaurant's standards. The Line Cook must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task efficiently.
Experience is a plus but not required. A willingness to learn and a passion for cooking is necessary. We will help you learn to cook in a fine-dining restaurant and become proficient.
You will learn how to make salads and cook using a fryer, stovetop, and grill. You will learn temperatures and how to saute meats and vegetables successfully. You will also learn how to plate entrees and expedite.
Once you train for three weeks, we will analyze and review your abilities with you to decide if you require additional training or if you are ready to join Vernon's Speakeasy kitchen team where you will help design menus and further your cooking knowledge.

Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding.
Prepare meals according to recipes and special dietary requirements.
Ensure that all food is cooked to the correct temperature and served in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
